Detection & Evasion

What is ransomware prevention?

Ransomware prevention is the set of controls that stop an attack before it succeeds: patching and vulnerability management, phishing-resistant MFA, least-privilege access, network segmentation, email filtering, and endpoint protection. These reduce the likelihood of compromise but cannot eliminate it.

Because prevention is never perfect, it must be paired with the ability to recover cleanly. Elastio complements prevention by inspecting inside your data and backups so that, when an attack does get through, you can prove which recovery points are clean and restore without reinfection.
